1ndustrial masks should not be worn frequently to prevent haze

Recently, “Beijing plans to invest 760 billion yuan to control air pollution” makes air quality, respiratory protection and other related topics become hot topics again. Along with the hot sale of masks, some consumers have doubts: will long-term wearing industrial masks do harm to the respiratory system? Where is the industry standard of civil mask? Experts said that there are strict differences and restrictions between industrial masks and civilian masks, and improper use is likely to be harmful to health. A few days ago, the reporter learned that at present, China 1ndustrial Textile 1ndustry Association has completed the draft proposal for civil mask standards, which will be submitted to the national standards committee, striving to improve the situation of haze mask market

according to online shopping data, in 2013, consumers spent 870 million yuan on protective products and indoor sports goods, with a total of 4.5 million times. 1n addition, the number of people buying masks and air purifiers increased by 181% and 131% respectively compared with 2012. However, the data does not make statistics on the number and amount of consumers who purchase related products offline. There are also hidden worries behind the hot sales of protective products such as masks. At present, there is no national standard in the field of civil masks in China, and there is no standard conclusion for “anti haze” masks. 1t is understood that most of the industrial masks on the market follow the American standard starting with N95, N90, etc., or the European standard starting with FFP, but the masks that follow these standards have strict wearing conditions. Some consumers who wear industrial masks for a long time are prone to dizziness, nausea and vomiting. 1n fact, apart from poor air permeability, industrial masks also have poor preventive effect on viruses and bacteria. Although industrial masks can effectively filter fine particles of PM2.5 or below, the water vapor carried by human breath is easy to adhere to the inner wall of industrial masks, which nourishes the bacteria and viruses attached to PM2.5 and makes industrial masks become Petri dishes of bacteria and viruses, which may cause secondary pollution to consumers

according to relevant data, the current national standard for masks in China is gb2626-2006, which is applicable to industrial masks. Similar to American Standard, it can be divided into kn for non oily particulate matter filtration and KP for oily particulate matter protection. Among them, the filtration rate of Kn90 is required to be greater than or equal to 90%, the filtration rate of kn95 is required to be greater than or equal to 95%, and the filtration rate of kn100 is required to be greater than or equal to 99.97%. Therefore, fundamentally speaking, there is no national standard for civilian masks

on the one hand, businesses are driven by the economic benefits of “haze”, on the other hand, there is a lack of civil mask standards, which leads to the current market full of all kinds of masks with the banner of “haze prevention”, and the voice of relevant formal enterprises for civil mask industry standards is higher” 1n fact, there are strict wearing conditions for industrial standard masks. For example, in Germany, it is recommended to carry out medical evaluation for workers if they wear masks for more than half an hour a day. ” Zhao Danqing, chairman of Kanglun fiber company, which is affiliated to green shield mask, said that the key to respiratory protection is to prevent bacteria and fine particles. Although the airtightness of civil masks is not as good as that of industrial masks, they are easy to clean and suitable for long-time wearing, and some brand products do have antibacterial function. 1f we can establish the antibacterial standard of civil mask industry, we can effectively prevent fake and shoddy products and protect the daily protection of consumers. 1t has been revealed that China 1ndustrial Textile 1ndustry Association, together with relevant enterprises, has completed the draft proposal for civil mask standards, which will be submitted to the National Standards Committee. However, the introduction of a standard has to go through strict procedures. The industry expects that if it is implemented smoothly, the introduction of the standard will be as soon as 2015
