Sichuan shoe enterprises seek “zero tariff” business opportunity to enter South Asia market

since July 1 this year, China has implemented a zero tariff preferential policy for imports from Bangladesh in South Asia, including 4721 items. Moreover, with factories set up in Bangladesh, some goods can enter European and Japanese markets free of tariff. Recently, under the organization of Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, more than 10 Sichuan enterprises went to Bangladesh, Brunei and Sri Lanka to invest in a number of foreign projects. 1t is not difficult to see that in the current favorable policy environment, Sichuan enterprises have begun to layout the South Asian market

Bangladesh’s advantageous commodities include garments, leather, jute, seafood, etc., which can enjoy zero tariff treatment when exported to China. Most of the fabrics, yarns, accessories, dyestuffs and mechanical equipment used in garment manufacturing in Bangladesh are imported from China. Textile and garment enterprises and related enterprises in Sichuan Province can set up factories in Bangladesh, transfer garment manufacturing and related industries, or vigorously develop the export business of upstream products and supporting products. Set up a factory in Bangladesh, the clothing and other products produced by the enterprise can enter the European, Japanese and other markets free of tariff

due to its successful entry into ASEAN and other emerging markets, the export of shoes in Sichuan Province surged by nearly 80% in the first half of the year. At present, Sichuan footwear import and Export Chamber of commerce is paying close attention to the “zero tariff” business opportunities, and will organize enterprises to participate in Vietnam 1nternational Footwear Exhibition in September to enter Japan and South Korea with ASEAN countries as a springboard, and its next goal is South Asia
