PPE

What is personal protective equipment (PPE)?

PPE

Personal protective equipment refers to the personal protective equipment provided to protect workers from accidents and occupational hazards in the labor production process, which directly protects the human body; the opposite is industrial protective equipment, which is indirect Protect the human body.

Type of use :

Protective clothing

White canvas protective clothing can protect the human body from high-temperature baking and has the characteristics of flame resistance. It is mainly suitable for melting, pouring and welding.

Work cloth protective clothing has a general shielding and protection effect on the human body. It is mainly suitable for non-high temperature and heavy physical work, such as maintenance, lifting and electrical work.

Polycarbonate protective clothing can shield and protect the human body, and is suitable for logistics and functional personnel.

Protective gloves

Thick canvas gloves are mostly suitable for high temperature and heavy physical labor, such as steelmaking and casting.

Canvas, yarn, and split finger gloves are mainly suitable for work types such as maintenance workers, crane drivers and power distribution workers.

The woolen, leather long gloves are mainly suitable for welding work.

Rubber or rubber-coated gloves are mainly suitable for electrical, casting, and other types of work.

When wearing all kinds of gloves, be careful not to expose your wrists to prevent welding sparks or other harmful objects from splashing into the racket during operation and causing injury, Do not wear gloves when operating various types of machine tools or working in places where there is a danger of being pinched.

Protective shoes

Insulation protective rubber boots

Rubber shoes have the function of insulation and protection, and are mainly suitable for electric power, hydraulic sand cleaning, and open-air operations.

Sneakers have insulation, anti-skid protection, and are mainly suitable for maintenance, crane drivers, electrical and other types of work.

Steel toe cap leather shoes are suitable for casting and steelmaking.

Safety helmet

The strap of the cushioning pad in the cap should be strong, and the distance between the top of the head and the top of the cap should not be less than 32 mm.

Do not use the helmet as a cushion to prevent deformation and reduce the protective effect.

If you find the hat is cracked, sunken, or worn, replace it immediately.

Face shield and goggles

The anti-radiation mask is mainly suitable for welding operations to prevent the powerful light, ultraviolet rays and metal flying debris generated during welding from damaging the face. The gas masks should pay attention to performing the filter material.

Anti-shock goggles can prevent eye damage from splashes such as metal, sand, molten steel, and are most suitable for machine tool operations, casting and ramming risers.

Radiation protection goggles can prevent harmful infrared rays, dazzling visible light, and ultraviolet rays from harming the eyes. They are mainly suitable for smelting, pouring, burning and casting heat treatment. Most of these goggles are connected with the brim of the hat, some are fixed, and some can be turned up and down.

 Seat belt

Safety belts are protective equipment to prevent falling when working at heights.

Pay attention to the following when using:

We must wear safety belts for operations above 2 meters from the reference plane.

When using, fasten the safety belt to the waist, and buckle the hook at a reliable place not lower than the operator’s horizontal position, to prevent the impact from being increased when falling and causing injury.

Check the sewing part and the hook part of the seat belt frequently. Replace the broken or worn safety belts in time. If it loses the protective cover, you must add it before use.

Anti-acid and alkali products

Anti-acid and alkali products are personal protective products that protect workers from acid and alkali hazards in the production environment.

According to the raw materials of the protective equipment, we can divide it into: rubber anti-acid and alkali products, plastic anti-acid and alkali products and wool, silk, synthetic fiber fabric anti-acid and alkali products, etc. according to the protective parts we can divide it into: anti-acid and alkali work clothes, gloves, boots, Anti-acid masks and masks, etc.
